Northwood School is privileged to have top class medical professionals, specializing in sport’s injuries, based on site, at lower campus (47 Mackeurtan Avenue, Durban North).
Protocol to be followed when making an appointment with one of the medical professional is as follows.First determine what form of treatment your son or you may require, as the medical professionals listed below offer a range of different services.
- In most instances, learners need to obtain the permission of their parents or guardians to make an appointment, and they will need to sign an indemnity at the first consultation.
- In the case of the BE learners, they will need to obtain permission of the BE superintendent (or master on duty) or their sport MIC, who in turn must inform Mrs Thomas (Northwood Financial Accountant) as well as assist the learners in making an appointment.
All the practitioners charge medical aid rates. Highly competitive discounted rates are offered if the patient is a Northwood Old Boy, parent of a Northwood pupil or a Northwood pupil himself.
Some of the practitioners run purely cash practices, others can submit through medical aid. Please confirm preferred payment methods with the relevant practitioner when making your appointment. If your child is on the Alexander Forbes Insurance, please make the practitioner aware of this and they will then send you the form which you must fill in and attach the medical invoices – you then submit them to the school and contact Robyn Thomas who in turn will submit the forms to Alexander Forbes Insurance, who will reimburse you.
Please don’t hesitate to contact any of us with any concerns you may have with this process we are here to help you and to assist your children so they can attain their maximum performance capabilities.
